Why not take five minutes now? Close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths. Perhaps you felt embarrassed or made a silly mistake. What did your inner voice say? Was it critical? How does it sound? Make the sound of the voice quiet or funny. Put this \u2018image\u2019 outside of yourself \u2013 imagine you are disposing of it. This is all your inner voice should be in this situation \u2013 something small, insignificant, and to be quickly removed from your thoughts and disposed of.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-6rvl2\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\"><strong>Replacing your critical inner voice with a confident state<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-cjsjc\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">Instead of listening to the critical inner voice that knocks your confidence and feelings of self-worth, now find a voice and image that will encourage and support you in difficult situations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-8thlu\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">Start right now \u2013 close your eyes again and imagine a time when you have been proud of an achievement. Think of a time when you felt confident and happy, as a result of your hard work or a good decision.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-dgerf\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">When you are picturing this, think of a strong and powerful image to represent this feeling, perhaps a tall strong oak tree or a vibrant, colorful butterfly. You can also add an action \u2013 perhaps clench your fist, touch a ring or give a thumbs up. Something positive \u2013 even a big smile. Release the action and open your eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-3v0rt\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">Next time you don\u2019t feel confident or your inner voice is \u2018getting too loud\u2019, bring this image to mind again and do your chosen action. All of this positivity (in your thoughts and in your actions) releases endorphins and these will naturally assist you to feel confident within.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-1ocep\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">When we do this regularly, we will genuinely feel more confident. In turn, we find it easier to look at \u2018weaknesses\u2019 in a detached way. Importantly, we can quickly \u2018crush\u2019 that critical inner voice with an image of strength and resilience.<\/span><\/p>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block24\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"viewer-8sqps\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\"><strong>The next step &#8211; feel the fear and do it anyway<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-1det1\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">The techniques above can help you to re-centre yourself when feelings of self-doubt arise. Did you know that many are just as afraid, nervous and have feelings of self-doubt, just like you? The difference is that they do not let these feelings stop them. They do not let their inner voice \u2018win\u2019. They know how to handle it.
